I absolutely loved this experience despite it being ages ago so I decided to keep this post here despite the new site!
I got to do my work experience (way back in 2016) at Scratch Magazine which was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had!
Whilst I was there, I had the opportunity to write blog posts for their magazine which have been published on their website: www.scratchmagazine.co.uk (you may have to scroll back quite far haha)!
On the Tuesday, I was lucky enough to attend two press events with Scratch Magazine and they were fantastic! Firstly, I headed up to London and met up with Jade, the gorgeous news and features writer for Scratch. Our first event was at the High Definition Brows boutique in Notting Hill. When we got there we were greeted with an elderflower cordial and were introduced to the whole High Definition team. We received a fabulous treatment called the Nacial which consisted of four main products; the High Definition Cuticle Remover, the High Definition Nail Scrub, the Nail Reviver and the High Definition Growth Booster. The idea of the Nacial is to maintain health and care for your nails whilst removing dirt and stimulating growth. We got to choose from an incredible selection of colours. I went for hot pink gel nails and Jade went for a combination to create a pearl nude look. In addition to the Nacial, we also received a hand massage which was so relaxing!
As we were leaving, one of the gorgeous staff members offered us a brow wax/thread and a make-over. We jumped at the chance! It was lush!! I had my eyebrows waxed, threaded and filled in by the lovely Laura, then I was given a beautiful makeover. We were also given a goodie bag which included a make-up bag, Brow Colourfix and Browtec both in the shade 002 Foxy.
After our time at High Definition, we headed over to The Wolseley for afternoon tea with a US brand called Jamberry who create fantastic nail wraps. We were greeted by our hosts and offered various flavours of tea. We tucked into some posh sandwiches, pastries and scones. After all the food, we had a demonstration on how to apply the nail wraps. Again we were lucky enough to receive a goodie bag including a heater, plenty of nail wraps and all the tools to achieve a salon perfect look!
I had such a fantastic day and I’d like to thank all the brands and people who made this day so much fun. Thank you again Scratch Magazine for my work experience placement and opportunity to do these amazing things!
